This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting basic sweatpants for my students so they can have a change of clothes ready. Since my school houses so many shelter students, I want to be able to support them with their basic needs so they can focus on school. These students are already dealing with so many personal problems at home. They don't need to worry about the basic need for cleanliness.

As a school counselor, I want to support my students and teach them to be healthy physically and emotionally. Any student can have an accident. I want to make sure that they have the items they need to continue their school day in a relaxed manner.
The other day, our students faced a massive rain while walking to school. Several of them were drenched. The counselors had to provide them with a change of clothes and socks so they could face the rest of the day. Having clothes available for our students is a goal that's very close to my heart.
