Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am so excited! I took the Yoga Ed. training for teachers in an effort to help my students improve their learning, behavior, and health. I cannot wait to implement yoga tools in the classroom because the training was awesome (I took the training while we were off track). Through yoga tools the children will learn how to calm themselves if they're feeling anxious or overwhelmed, they will learn how to focus and concentrate on their school work and tests, and they will learn about keeping their bodies and minds healthy and in harmony. I teach first grade students in an urban community. The students face challenges and they do not have the skills to help them resolve their challenges in the most safe or appropriate manner. Yoga training will give them the tools to work through their challenges, not only at school but also at home. We need twenty yoga mats for twenty first graders engaging in a fun non-competitive activity while helping to promote their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The tools they learn in class will last them for a lifetime.
