This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
To improve student attendance and academic performance, students must attend school every day. I want our students to attend school so that they learn and reach their full potential in their classes. They must be at school every day and participate in the learning process.
I need your support to combat chronic absenteeism.
Every year, staff work very hard to improve attendance.
One strategy to improve attendance is involving students, parents, educators, and community members in a campaign that offers positive rewards to motivate our students to attend school every day.
Based on different research shows that student absences affect a child's ability to succeed in school. Additionally, there is evidence that chronic school absenteeism is a leading cause of poor academic performance and a powerful predictor of a student's risk of dropping out of school early.
As an attendance teacher, I can think of innovative ways to improve student attendance. I would like to use these incentives to motivate, support, help, and improve the chronic absenteeism rate. Students who complete 100% attendance in a full month and arrive on time will receive a reward.
My students need some school supplies such as crayons, markers, rulers, erasers, notebooks, pencils, calculators, and sharpeners,
This will not just help improve the student's knowledge, but it will also show them that someone cares for them.
In addition, it will help them feel the satisfaction of achieving success in a difficult task, such as waking up early and being in school on time every single day.
