Improve Focus And Fine Motor Skills!!!

My students need alternate seating and fine motor manipulatives in order to succeed in school!!! We need wobble chairs, and more.

My Students

My students come from extreme poverty and are constantly battling outside forces that impact their abilities in the classroom. They feel safe in our school, but that is the only security in their lives - a haven to escape the drugs, violence, and other evils. Last year, we had a shooting right outside the front doors of our school.

Even with all that weighing on their minds, they are hopeful.

They love to learn, love to be nurtured, and love to learn to be a Person of Character!

My Project

My students come to me with little to no experience with toys, therefore, their fine motor skills are very poor. That impacts their ability to perform in the classroom setting. I would LOVE to be able to make therapy FUN for them so they don't even realize that we are working on skill development!

Many of my students suffer from lead poisoning, fetal alcohol syndrome, addicted babies, etc which makes learning difficult.

Maintaining their focus is hard in the classroom when they are expected to sit for prolonged periods. The wobble seats are to give them more sensory input and movement at their seats!!!
