My Students

I work at a charter school in North Salt Lake teaching Physical Education, Health, and Yearbook. A lot of our students through no fault of their own suffer from behavior disorders under many different diagnoses. Despite that, they try very hard to improve their station in life and to learn coping skills that will allow them to adapt to society as best as they possibly can. They are very unique. They are also, for the most part, caring and loving individuals.

My Project

This project is to give my students a way to learn different physical education skills such as badminton, dance and physical activities that will help the students learn to enjoy many different activities. The students will be able to learn how to meet their own sensory needs in times of distress. This will be done by giving them the ability to listen to mindfulness activities that will help them learn how to manage their own emotions with the use of the MP3 player and be able to fidget with equipment at the same time.

This will be an amazing experience for my students to be able to learn in a way that hasn't been available in the past.

When we are able to use different ways of learn the students are able to learn at a different level in the classroom.
