Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a Montessori classroom of 17 wonderful students. They are a mix of pre-school (green beans) and kindergarten (blue berries) students. In this classroom, I follow the student in their learning. They choose what lessons to work on and work independently. I work with the student's one-on-one giving the new lessons or reviewing lessons that they have yet to master. This is my first year teaching Montessori and every time I see the excitement of learning on their faces, I know that this method of teaching is the best method for me and my students.
My Project
The Students will participate in interesting and fun activities involving legos io this field trip. In the Montessori classroom we use our Montessori materials to build fine motor skills. This will be a great extension to our classroom activities. It will them build strong muscles in their hands to help them learn to write and other skills.
Students will learn engineering with legos, too!
They figure out how to make a structure, how to make it stand, and how to make a stable base.
In addition, creativity, imagination, and ideas keep their absorbent minds active.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' fine motor skills, engineering skills, and allow opportunity to express creativity and imagination.
