This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very bright and highly intelligent scholars. They are very polite and they love to learn. The students at CES have warm and giving personalities that make you feel so welcomed. Not only do they love to learn, but they also love to teach you new things as well. What I love the most about my students is that they want help and they are not too afraid to ask for help when they need it. It warms my heart to know they trust me with some of their most precious thoughts and they care about my advice and opinion when needed. They teach me a lot more than they realize. I love working with them and guiding them in the right direction of reaching their fullest potential.
My Project
I am starting at a new school with a completely different demographic of students. I want to make sure I have supplies that cater to their specific needs and wants. These supplies will be used during guidance lessons with my students as well as individual and small group sessions. A lot of our students have been struggling with social skills due to being out of school for so long from the pandemic. Social skills cover so many areas. Our students get to participate in small groups where they role-play proper ways to communicate with others. Since most of our younger students have not had the opportunity to communicate with a full classroom of students due to virtual learning, doing small groups where they get to role-play has made a tremendous impact on their learning and making friends. These resources will further reinforce all of the hard work they have been doing to be ideal scholars.
