My juniors are becoming anxious and excited for their senior year to arrive. But, with senior year becomes big chances to make dreams come true and the pressures of making that happen. I teach a class of 36 outstanding students thirsty for the success on their college entrance exams.
My SAT/ACT Math Preparatory students have high hopes of scoring big on their college entrance exams, but lack the materials to boost them up.
Prep courses outside of school can cost upwards of thousands of dollars and prep books can be a hefty piece of their paychecks. My students work hard both in and out of school and deserve the books many of us took for granted during our junior and senior years in high school.
These books would act as our main curriculum and textbooks for the SAT/ACT Preparatory class. Homework, quizzes, and tests would be able to be pulled from these books, allowing my students the opportunity to go through them cover-to-cover in this semester. Right now, they only get printed handouts and worksheets that I make or find on my own and my students deserve so much more than that. My students need ACT and SAT preparation books as well as calculators to help them succeed on their college-entrance exams.
By having these books, my students would have one less thing to worry about on their journey to getting into the college of their dreams.
This one-stop-shop not only would help them in their math skills, but reading and writing as well, spanning more than just within my classroom.
