This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My wonderful class and I would love for each student to have a pair of comfortable headphones for their Chromebooks, especially as we move towards computer based testing. Every day, my students are practicing their computer skills and have the opportunity to engage in incredible learning platforms that require listening and speaking into the computer. Having headphones would allow each student to use their Chromebooks and engage in learning without distracting others.
About 70% of my students are English Language Learners.
Having screen monitors to display charts, videos, real photos, process charts, etc. would support their learning and engagement in the classroom. Third grade is a big jump from second grade and can be incredibly rigorous. Sometimes we have multiple tools that we need to display to the students- for example a process chart for their thinking and the text that we are reading. If we have these large screen monitors, we can display more than one thing and create a more effective learning environment.
