Immersive Antiracism Experience with Award-Winning Scholar!

Help me give my students an immersive antiracism experience, incorporating both social science and the arts, with an award-winning antiracism scholar!

My Project

Kanene Ayo Holder is a 3x National Endowment for the Humanities award-winning antiracism scholar. She is highly skilled at incorporating the arts with the social sciences to bring antiracism education to students of all grade levels and all demographics. Ms. Holder will provide anti-racist, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive diversity training for my high school students that incorporates the arts and academic subjects that will lead up to a culminating showcase.

With your support, Ms. Holder will work with my psychology students in identifying a systemic racist problem in their community and use their knowledge, their studies in the Cognitive Psychology course, as well as their skills in the arts and performing arts, to create a solution for this problem.

Students will then work with Ms. Holder to create a presentation to the class of their work that will serve as their final exam project. This will be an empowering, life-changing experience for these kids! (However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these "in-person" meetings will take place virtually via teleconference.)
