My Project
My students are allergic to boredom. When they'd rather stare at their phone's doom-scrolling than learn or experience something new or challenging, it's disappointing. Education is changing every day; the goals and interests of these kids are not the same as they were when I was in school. Alternatives to college are at an all-time high, and leading the way is the tech industry. Entertainment will always be at the forefront of innovation, so why not look to the past to help explore the future?
Film and gaming offer opportunities for students to explore different stories, voices, and experiences.
Students who dive into the behind-the-scenes, untold stories of the making of films explore a whole new side of the filmmaking industry. "The Movie Book" will provide a new and deeper insight into some of today's most popular films. In a similar approach, my gaming club meets to share a common interest, be social, and escape the stresses of the school day. PSVR2 is a new expansion on an earlier, fully-funded, DonorsChoose to give students an opportunity to experience their love of gaming in a completely new way.
Students will love being able to explore their favorite films as well as the possibilities of new and emerging technology.
