Help me give my students art and craft supplies to help them let their imaginations soar including a 3-D Collage box, liquid watercolor misters, peel and stick collage frames and more.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a prekindergarten dual blended room consisting of both students with IEPs, as well as typically developing kiddos without IEPs. My kiddos are all ages three to five, with 15 in the morning and 15 in the afternoon.
More than three-quarters of the students in our Title I school are from low-income households.
My classroom will be the first school experience for the majority of my students and I want it to set the tone for their future education. Therefore, I do all that I can to make their experience one that is exciting and motivating for them.
My Project
My students love our art center. I have several who like to explore and create by thinking out of the box. The other students are now beginning to do the same! I always tell them to let their imaginations go wild! If you can imagine it, you can make it!
Creative play is very important in a child's development.
This type of play:
- helps kiddos find new ways of looking at things and
- helps to develop confidence
- improves language and communication skills
- helps develop, practice, and improve coordination & motor skills - gives chances for practicing decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking
I am requesting a variety of materials, such as a 3-D collage box, collage frames, dot markers, and peel & stick foam cubes. These materials will help them create what they imagine!
