Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love center time. It is a time for them to socialize with each other and to engage in learning activities that support the standards. They are able to draw on the SEL skills they learn each day. In centers, students get to use their imagination and create things with science and building materials. I chose some magnetic builders, kinetic sand and tools to use with the sand, Clip and Create Builders, Alpha Bots, which will help with letter naming, too, a magnetic designer, a My Body magnetic activity and a world globe to replace the one that my students have loved for over 10 years! We have so little time for science because our focus is on language arts and math. Centers are a great time to do science and STEM activities and my students will love these new materials!
