My Students

Do you ever remember getting a gift that required batteries to make it work and mom didn't have any? My students have a library with a Smartboard, but no computer to make it work.

We are a charter school in Mesa Arizona.

We provide a high quality, well rounded education to 750 students in grades K-8th. Our race and ethnicity break down is 63% of our students are White, 28% Hispanic, 6% African American, 3% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 2% American Indian. 52% of our school is eligible for free and reduced lunches.

My Project

If we had a laptop in the Library, 750 students would be able to use the Smartboard. They would be able to create and explore fun new ways of learning library skills. The Smartboard could even be used as a tool to practice literacy standards that have been taught in the classroom.

A laptop would allow 750 students the chance to explore a new way of learning.

In a classroom a Smartboard only affects 25-30 students, but in the Library we are able to reach and see all the students in the school.
