This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I will be teaching Pre-K students. These smart little learners will come into the class full of curiosity for the new experiences they will explore each day. I teach in a Title I school in New York City and the students come from many diverse and economic backgrounds. Some of my students are from South America, Asia, and Europe.

These little learners will come to school eager to explore, play, learn, and work together.

I want the students in my class to get excited about working together, sharing ideas, and doing fun class projects.

I really try to make our classroom like a family unit which is caring, nurturing, and respectful. I want my young smart learners to appreciate each other and their learning environment from the very start.

My Project

Our young Pre-K learners are always so curious to explore the world around them. The Dramatic Play Center is super popular in our classroom. The students love to pretend play in their mini home environment set up area.

Dramatic Play is so important because it gives our young learners the opportunity to role play many real world situations.

Students get to express many different emotions in dramatic play. Our young friends get to make their own choices as they explore and learn through role playing. Dramatic play is essential because it allows so many opportunities for teachable moments about problem solving.

With your help and support we can provide the students with great items they can use in dramatic play. The fruit and vegetable sets will remind them that eating the colors of the rainbow is the healthiest choice. Our young learners can take on the role of a chef, which can offer so many opportunities for open ended questions.
