This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is a special needs classroom. My students range from ages 3-5 years old and are consistently learning about the world around them and discovering themselves. Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. My students are remarkable little stars who enjoy learning.

Their joy for learning inspires me to make sure their classroom environment is the best that it can be.

They inspire me every day to enjoy life and I enjoy teaching them everything I possibly can. They may be labeled as children with disabilities, but to me they are stars with infinite possibilities.

My Project

My Pre-K students need a water and sand activity tub, comfy couch, dollhouse dolls and furniture for the dollhouse, along with sensory dough and a butterfly nursery. These materials will increase their social skills and imagination and allow them to explore the world around them through dramatic play. We also need these materials to create our own our dramatic play area and build a sensory area. These materials will help improve their social skills along, imagination and creativity though play.

It will allow them to develop their social-emotional skills and develop creativity and increase their self-awareness.

These activities will be used during small group times and will be available during center time in connection with the theme of the week being taught. I selected these specific items to create an environment that will foster creativity and a love for learning.

Your generous donation will provide opportunities for my students to be creative and expand their imaginations while learning. Having the opportunity to build on these social skills, my students will be able to grow and learn in a way that is age appropriate and fun!
