Help me give my students story telling puppets, rhythm sticks and play food.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Reinke's classroom raised $441

My Students
I have a class of 23 diverse kindergarteners in our school. The background of these students is from affluent to poverty level. I teach the kindergarten inclusion classroom at our school. We meet our students needs by differentiating our instruction.
Our school is large with over 900 students Pre-K through fifth grade.
Our curriculum focuses on student inquiry-based learning with a global perspective. For this age, hands-on learning is essential. We just don't always have the material needed to enhance our students learning.
My Project
Students learn while playing and imitating. Kindergarteners love fairy tales. The puppets will go with our literary unit on fairy tales. After reading the fairy tales, students will be able to act them out in the puppet center. Playing with the puppets will help the students retell stories, build on prior knowledge and work well with others.
Free exploration and play are essential in promoting learning in kindergarten.
My kindergarteners will use the play food to create their own sweets business. Students will set up shop and sell to their friends. They will come up with the cost of the cookies and ice cream cones. Other students will pay for it with pretend money. Working out who will play what part of this is will be up to the students to work out.
More than half of students from low‑income households
