Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Engaging students in LEGO building activities boosts their spatial reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and fine motor skills, all of which can enhance reading comprehension and overall literacy. Additionally, LEGO play fosters creativity, storytelling, and language development, which are crucial for effective reading and writing.
My students face learning disabilities that make it difficult for them to craft written narratives.
Pretend play is beneficial in helping children develop storytelling abilities.
As they play with LEGO blocks and figures, children invent stories and scenarios for their characters, engaging in conversations. These language skills are vital for both writing and reading.
