My Project
I work in a school with over 50 students who have speech and language disabilities. Many of my students are nonspeaking or limited verbal communicators. However, they have a lot to say! They use alternate and augmentative forms of communicating.
The Talkable 2 Message Communicator is an amazing device to help my students make choices and answer simple questions.
So many of my students have IEP goals where they need to 'answer questions' or 'make a choice' from a field of two. Many times the paper choices limit them to showing their answers to the teacher. When they have a communication device, the children are able to 'speak' or express their answers to their classmates. I will be able to develop lessons that target these IEP goals, as well as encourage participation in class activities and motivation.
