Help me give my students hot glue applicators, and glue sticks to help them create science and social studies projects in class.

My Students
I teach children in one of the most expensive cities in the country. My students come from a variety of economic backgrounds in an increasingly crowded inner-city environment. Our 4th grade classrooms are routinely packed with 33 children, me, and a myriad of specialists who come in and out on a daily basis. Teaching children in one of the most expensive cities in the country brings many unusual challenges. We currently have a disproportionate district system of school funding. My students are not among the most socially or economically disadvantaged in my city, so they are often ignored. It is my experience that if kids can do anything if you give them the right tools. It is, therefore, my job to get them what they need to succeed.
My Project
Imagine you have to do a report on the transcontinental railroad, include drawings and photographs, and include a wooden model of a locomotive you built yourself. Pretty fun stuff...right?
Many of my students don't get the chance to leave their neighborhood unless it is for a field trip, so I try to let them experience the world through creative presentations where they can include actual scale models.
This gives their presentation an added bit of pizzazz! Fourth graders begin to learn about the history of California during social studies. I have tried to help develop their natural interest in the subject matter by incorporating project-based learning. All written reports are complemented by a model attached to a presentation board.
