Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Please support my students Social and Emotional behaviors by providing the tools to address an array of emotions.
Either returning back to school, starting at a new school, dealing with grief, altercations with bullies & peers, or "just not feeling school today"; students are more anxious than I ever was in school.
I want to be the safe and supportive "Mom in the Classroom", my students with emotional disturbances deserve. I need books to deal with losing parents and loved ones. I want to provide fidgets such as the Calming Stones, Fidget Bracelets, or a fur baby to help lessen their anxiety, and be able to express their feelings. I would like to provide a calming corner after emotions run high after fights, or verbal altercations, with Feeling Coloring books.
I want to instill positive strategies students can use to help regulate their emotions in a safe and proactive way. The products I chose will definitely be a way my students can channel and carry with them throughout their school years, without sending them out of the classroom for punitive actions.
