My Project

In our classroom, we are building a love for reading and writing poetry. Each student will have their own copy of Love That Dog to follow along as we explore the beauty of verse together. They'll also have a personal poetry notebook to experiment with their own writing, using mentor texts and creative prompts to inspire them. Poems will come to life on printed card stock displays throughout the room, and sticky note anchor charts will provide helpful examples. To celebrate their growth as poets, students will create bio folders to showcase their work, turning our classroom into a living, breathing poetry gallery!
