This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My First Grade class is made up of 18 amazing learners.
They come to school ready to learn despite the obstacles they face prior to stepping foot in the classroom. We are a Title I school, and many students do not have access to computers at home. The classroom is oftentimes their best opportunity to interact with educational technology.
My Project
My school district is moving to bring more technology into the classroom, and these materials will allow me to do so. The iPad that I am requesting would provide valuable opportunities for my students to interact with technology. In my classroom, students would use the iPad daily to reinforce and practice skills while I am meeting with small groups.
The iPad has an endless amount of educational apps that meet varying skill levels and interests. I love that a lot of the apps provide immediate feedback in the form of reinforcement and praise as the students are actively working.This wonderful tool allows students to work at their own pace while still increasing competency. My students love technology, and this will encourage them greatly. I'd also like to start using the iPad more during whole group instruction. For example, we might go out into our school garden and take pictures of things we observe. Lastly, there are a limited amount of computers and these will give us more access.
My students deserve the opportunity to interact with the latest educational technology.
