This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My goal is to have children interact with technology to make learning fun and engaging! By creating a love for learning, learning will take place naturally. This love can be created through technology!
Our classroom is a cheerful, colorful place full of excited Kindergarteners who are eager to learn!
My students are kindergarten children ages 5 and 6. Our school is a Title 1 school in a suburban California community with many English Language Learners.
Kindergarten is a huge growth year and with the right resources, the learning is endless. My students absolutely love using technology at school, and many of them do not have the opportunity to access computers at home. Interactive technologies can act as a great bridge for English learners and can keep them engaged when language is a struggle.
My Project
We need an iPad and smart case to support the Common Core curriculum in language arts and math. I am so excited about implementing Common Core for language arts and math with an iPad. There are many apps that will enhance my teaching and allow my students to be engaged and further their learning. The iPad will also allow me to teach Common Core lessons while showing the students images that are part of the lesson. These pictures are especially important for my English Language Learners.
The use of an iPad will allow me to save paper because I won't have to print out the lesson plans and the images and instead will use the iPad during the whole class lesson.

Technology engages and motivates them. I would love an iPad with a protective case to provide my students the opportunity to use technology and to effectively teach Common Core aligned lessons.
