This year I am blessed with 27 amazing students. I strongly believe that part of my responsibility is to help my students discover that learning happens beyond the desk and traditional seating areas. Allowing students to pick from comfortable seating arrangements around the room while staying focused has been a goal in the past that has been achieved.
We are now excited to transform our classroom lighting to be most conducive for student learning.
Our students will be able to thrive this desirable environment.
My Project
Our class is in the process of transitioning to flexible seating and have been able to repurpose some of our furniture to provide an environment in the classroom where student-choice plays a part in learning. Currently we have different areas of the room as well as seating options and tables for students to choose from. We are now looking to extend this transformation into our lighting.
Harsh lights and not enough brightness in the room can impact a child's ability to focus on tasks at hand; therefore, we are asking for better ways to illuminate our classroom.
Our goal is to cover each of our fluorescent lights with filters and have some desk lamps available to put in each group's area. We are looking forward to this continued transformation of our learning environment!
