This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Reading is a fundamental skill that opens doors to knowledge, self-expression, and personal growth. However, for students with autism, mastering this skill can present unique challenges. My project, "Illuminating Minds: Empowering Students with Autism to Excel in Reading," seeks to provide these students with the tailored resources and support they need to develop strong reading abilities, boost their confidence, and achieve academic success.
The students "Illuminating Minds" will help are from Springfield, MA, and are a part of a specialized program in Springfield Public Schools called Links.
The students in the program have Autism or learning disabilities. It is a self-contained classroom with the goal of having the students integrate into the general education program. We help promote inclusivity throughout the building and want to give the students all that they need to succeed in the classroom and in life!
