I am attempting to bring Latin into the 21st century. Even though my subject is two thousand years old I can modernize it by using computer images, graphs, and different colored fonts to highlight certain ancient grammar points.
Fortunately, my school system has equipped me with a laptop and projector. Unfortunately I have no place onto which I may project images.
My students are young and enthusiastic, but the majority of them live in poverty. By allowing them to see their work projected large and in color onto the front of the room, I hope to keep their imaginative fires burning. For them, school is more fun if it is engaging; and a dry erase board is all that I am missing.
With your kind generosity, I shall be able to place a dry erase board over my 80 year old slate chalkboard. The advantage of the dry erase board is that I can save work on my computer and then call it up in the future, nothing gets erased.
