Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The curriculum I use promotes many hands-on learning activities, as well as learning through music and movement. These activities happen in various centers I have set up in the room. Appropriate, sturdy materials are the key to the children learning and improving their academic and social skills.
I have a class of nine preschool students whose ages range from 3-5 years old.
All of the students have a variety of mild to moderate special needs ranging from developmental delays, speech delays, fine motor delays, and emotional/behavioral issues. They learn so much throughout the year and it's amazing to witness their progress! There is a team of teachers and staff that support their learning. Whether it's through gym activities, art activities, fun speech, O.T., P.T. or music activities, a lot of support is in place to help all of my students achieve a variety of goals.
My Project
My students love to explore science, math, literacy, and art when they are using hands-on and versatile materials. We need specific supplies for our upcoming unit on light, shadows, and reflections. These concepts can be tricky to teach, but with the right tools, my students will have a chance to learn about these concepts in a meaningful way.
With these translucent math trays, alphabet tracing tiles, nature slides, and building pieces, my students will be able to improve their science, math, literacy, and art skills in a fun and new way!
These translucent materials are specifically designed for use on light tablets and light tables. These materials will help my students become happily engaged and successful.
