This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love using lightboards for tracing and duplicating their artwork! We could really use a few more! My students use lightboards for specific projects where they duplicate a drawing of their own, and sometimes students use lightboards to strengthen their fine motor skills by tracing printed images. Either way, lightboards are a helpful tool for creating artwork year round.

We would be lucky to have technology like lightboards to teach students how artists use a variety of tools when creating.

Having lightboards in the art room will widen students' understanding of how and why artists use technology in their artistic process, teach students responsibility for shared tools, and allow them to practice their drawing skills in new ways!
