My Students

I began the year with eighteen students. Unexpected circumstances led me to gain six more students. Three of those students came to me with severe special needs. I was apprehensive about the changes and challenges that would come my way. However, this group of kids has worked together to support and welcome one another.

My students have created a classroom full of charisma, kindness, and laughter.

My students are bold and fearless when facing challenges presented to them. They have taught me how important that can be. I want them to know anything is possible.

My Project

I plan on using these flashlights inside the classroom to engage students in their learning. I’d like to start incorporating flashlight Fridays.

We will turn down the lights and snuggle up with a good book.

In math, I’d like to see the flashlights used to play games. One example could be taking math facts on cards. Partners would race to an answer to the math facts. The first person to shine their flashlight on the card with the correct answer would get to keep the card. We would also be able to apply the flashlights in our science unit on light. I know these flashlights will get my students excited about learning.
