My Students

My children are blended regular education and special education three, four, and five year olds. They have unique personalities and are navigating the world of pre-kindergarten. They are thrilled to explore new learning on a daily basis. Recently, we made predictions on whether certain items would sink or float. My children grasped the concept so quickly that I squeaked with delight! Watching them learn and how they process new learning is the thrill of a lifetime for me as their teacher! My children are very loving, nurturing, and helpful to their classmates. I watch with pride as some of them take on the role as peer tutors. I listen attentively as they remind one another of the classroom rules and also as they display classroom behavior expectations. My children are all exceptional, delightful, and come each day ready to learn.

My Project

I am a pre-k teacher of 4 year olds in a diverse classroom with both special education children and regular education students. Teaching young children requires numerous visual examples and modeling. Teaching students online has a special a set of challenges which can be alleviated by the use of a document camera. I will use the camera to project the letters, numbers, and stories so that early learners will be able to see what they are learning. Additionally, I will be able to model writing letters correctly and also show children the correct direction we read print and track it from left to right. Stories will also come alive through the use of a document camera. Children will not only see the words and learn that words have meaning, but they will also be able to see the pictures as I read their favorite books.
