My Students
Throughout my five science classes and several after-school programs are a group of 200+ diverse students that are always so eager to learn more about science. In a room surrounded by plants and animals, my students enter our jungle of a classroom engulfed by science. The classroom is designed for exploration through research and learning, via hands-on activities. By the end of the year, I want my students to be at the forefront of a STEM education.
Each student is unique in his/her own way, which makes learning that much more special.
My students love learning about the ever-changing world of science and are captured by the fact that every day brings new discoveries in science.
Our school is a welcoming environment, that encourages higher-level learning while supporting the students at every step. The school houses over 1,400 middle school students, who come from different ethnic backgrounds. In order to strengthen their learning experience, I want my students to utilize all the possible resources I can provide for them.
My Project
I've had the amazing opportunity to attend past NSTA Science Conferences and I was able to learn about so many new techniques in science education. I was also given so many resources and ideas to bring back to my classroom and my amazing engineers-in-training were never more excited about new ideas.
It is only right that I practice what I preach to my students, which is that learning is a continual experience.
Professional Development is so important to educators because it allows for fresh ideas to be formed, brings excitement up to a whole new level and allows for collaboration among other professionals.
I want to be able to bring the latest ideas into my classroom so my students have the most powerful learning experience in our science and STEM classes.
