My Students

My multi-grade classroom serves students with varying needs. We work in an alternative setting in order to best meet the individual needs of the children in our classroom. Students leave and join our classroom throughout the year.

Our students have strength and determination.

They have a variety of social and emotional needs. Throughout our day, we work to help them learn to manage their feelings and thoughts, use their words to discuss problems and feelings, and resolve conflicts with their peers.

My Project

Many of my students require weekly occupational therapy to help strengthen their fine motor skills. Having iPads in the classroom gives them access to classroom activities without the added frustration of using pencils and paper.

iPads allow us to access individual digital portfolios, create literacy projects, practice math fluency, listen to audio books and answer comprehension questions.

Technology allows for individualization of programming for the students in our classroom.

Movement within our classroom is an effective way to meet my students' sensory needs. iPads allow that movement within the classroom so kids can learn in ways that are most beneficial for their personal needs.
