Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All my students are children which have English as a second language and have just recently come to the United States. These children are living in a low income neighborhood and don't usually have funds to experience new and exciting things.
I believe that with the use of technology these children are inspired to learn the English language because technology is something new and fun for them!
I believe that with the proper tools these children can learn English quickly.
My Project
The use of iPads and tablets is almost an every day thing for most children in this country. However, most of the students in my school are not to fortunate as to have these things at home. With modern things in our class like iPads and tablets, the students will be more motivated to come in to class and learn using these things on a daily basis. These students will begin to see learning as something new and fun when they have these things available to them.
I have seen and experienced how iPads and tablets give students the motivation they need to read.
Children are more excited about using these new gadgets instead of paper and pencil. Our goal is to get these students to use their minds and learn. Why not do it in a way in which they will enjoy and look forward to?
