My Students

My students come from a disadvantaged area. The entire school receives free breakfast and lunch. Although parents do what they can, many times my kids come to school unprepared with the proper supplies because their parents can't afford even the most basic things.

My students are my world.

Most of the time, due to insufficient funds, I spend a great deal of my own money making sure they have what they need. These kids deserve to have the very best!

My Project

Having a set of 6 iPads will allow for differentiated centers in my classroom. One way they will be used is as a math center. This would allow me to have activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students. Students will be able to independently work on basic skills through the use of apps and extend their knowledge of what they are learning in math class with assignments created in Prodigy and other learning platforms. Another way they will be used is by researching various science and social studies topics. Our curriculum for those subjects is outdated so any additional support would be helpful.

Our school is not yet at the level technologically to meet our students' needs as learners.

This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
