Isn't it exciting to experience the latest and greatest that technology has to offer. My students could benefit from having an iPod touch in our classroom by being able to access websites, make videos, play educational games with the hundreds of learning apps available, and much more.
I teach in a small town in Alabama.
My school is a title 1 school where a large majority of the students are on free or reduced lunch. They often don't have the latest resources technology has to offer, but enjoy those experiences as much an any other kids. In addition, proration has left teachers and schools with little money to spend on items our students may benefit from.
My Project
I am requesting an iPod touch and protective case to open a new door of learning experiences to my students. An iPod touch would allow us to use the many educational apps to reinforce what is being taught. The apps would be of great assistance with math, reading, and almost an content area we are studying. The video features would allow my students to be creative in conducting interviews or giving reports on books and many other topics. Imagine how their reading comprehension will grow when I am able to provide them with a different tool they will be able to be used with reading. In addition, we would be able to video and post to our class blog. The uses of the iPod touch are limitless. An iPod touch would keep my students working with current technology that keeps them engaged.
This project is important because not only do students need knowledge of core content, but they need skills and experience with technology that will prepare them for tomorrow.
Support our classroom and bring us up to date with technology.
