My Students
I have a group of 25 eager first graders whose enthusiasm for learning is contagious. My students live in a low-income, high poverty area where they face many challenges in their daily lives. Despite their daily hardships, my students come to school excited and ready to learn. The more they see themselves accomplish, the more confident they become in their academic abilities and the more they love learning!
My goal is to create a learning environment for all students to succeed and develop a love and enthusiasm for learning!
My Project
My students have developed a love for learning and have become active participants in class daily. Small group rotations are very much a part of our daily routine. They allow for differentiation and for each student to achieve mastery on their own level! My students come in to school every day looking forward to see what stations they will get to participate in that day. My students need two iPads to use during our differentiated small group rotations!
My students need iPads to be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher level learning.
An iPad helps students who are kinesthetic and visual learners open up the doors of education and individualize their learning experiences. The iPad will become a tool that will help create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom as well as build twenty first century skills that our children need in order to be successful in a quickly evolving technical world. My students will be able to work in centers with the iPads, writing, reading, learning phonemic awareness skills, working with math manipulatives and more. They will be able to create both independent and collaborative projects in order to show true understanding of concepts.
