My Students

My 3rd grade classroom is an inclusion classroom. I teach energetic 3rd graders interested in STEM-related disciplines. As a teacher in today's day and age, I find it crucial to help my students become technologically literate.I have students with varying physical and intellectual abilities. Each student is an energetic third grader eager to learn. Our school is dedicated to giving our students the best education possible, despite any challenges our students bring. We use our best efforts to bring funding into our school but we don't always have what we need. We need you to help us show our students love and create a new generation of successful adults.

Without proper access to technology, my inner city students are at a disadvantage to becoming global citizens.Many of my students live in poverty or are English language learners and face many challenges that make learning more difficult.

Approximately 80% of our students are low income. My goal is to help students build the foundations needed for literacy, math, science, arts, and social skills through active learning and individual needs. My third grade classroom is a place where students come to learn, create, and explore every day.

My Project

Introducing technology into the classroom has an endless list of benefits and possibilities. I strive to create a classroom environment where there is a great deal of small group, center based learning. I have one iPad I use as a daily center in the classroom to support and enhance the current learning goals and engagement.

Adding more iPads to the classroom will allow students to explore STEM through the many different fun apps.

My students have already been learning how to code through numerous programs. They are so interested in continuing to exploring coding and robotics in the classroom.My goal is to provide the materials necessary so that they may develop skills and foster a love for learning.

Given the wide-range of diverse learners in my classroom, students learn at different paces and learning styles, the use of iPads will allow me to differentiate my instruction to better meet the needs of my students.
