My Project
With the help of these sensory tools our students, who have severe disabilities will be able to have a designated space with tools to interact and engage with to calm themselves.
The blue light shades keep the whole room calm and the interactive activities of the LED lights, Thera-putty, Gel pads, and weighted blankets give them the options and opportunities to calm down to a regulated state if they are elevated.
The window clings provide privacy from other students outside the classroom and the visual timer gives them a time frame to demonstrate to them how long they have in the space. Being calm and in a regulated state of mind provides the best environment for our students to grow and thrive as a learner and whole person.
