This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten students are known for their creativity and imagination. While much of our focus in the classroom is on social emotional and academic learning, it is also pivotal to give students a space to explore these other sides.
There are many benefits to dramatic play, including learning conflict resolution, allowing for choice, acting out feelings, and exploring greater independence.
The mat will help to define this space and help keep these resources organized. The dress up station, hangers and mirror will allow students to easily access these materials, take care of them, and see themselves as they explore their creativity. We look forward to adding these resources to support our dramatic play.
