My Project
I am consistently inspired by my students' intelligence, their boundless curiosity, and their fierce commitment to justice. They are bright, resilient young women eager to engage with the world and make a positive impact. This project aims to transform a traditional space into a dynamic flexible seating room, specifically designed to empower them in critical areas: racial justice, authentic representation, and robust Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). This innovative space will be a sanctuary for thoughtful discussions, restorative practices, and collaborative projects, allowing our girls to thrive.
My goal is to create a versatile learning environment that fosters deep engagement and holistic growth.
The HP Laptop will be our central hub for research, accessing SEL resources, and facilitating virtual guest speakers, connecting students to a wider world of knowledge and perspectives. Paired with the Portable Triple Screen Monitor, this setup will revolutionize collaborative work, allowing students to share information seamlessly, analyze data, and create compelling presentations on racial justice issues. The flexible café tables and stools will replace rigid desks, offering varied seating options that cater to different learning styles and promote active participation in restorative circles and group discussions. This flexibility will empower them to choose the setting that best supports their focus and emotional regulation, crucial for developing strong SEL skills. Each item is carefully chosen to break down traditional barriers, encouraging open dialogue, critical thinking, and empathy.
