My students need 8 Chromebooks. My team next year is supposed to be focused on STEAM and these Chromebooks would allow our students the access to be successful.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are embarking on their first exposure to the Project Based Learning environment. Everyone has their fond memories of amazing science experiments that they take with them for a lifetime. I want to make sure that my students are guaranteed the basic supplies they need so that throughout the year I can focus on spending money on those show-stopping deep thinking moments. Project-based learning forces students to critically think. It prepares them for the jobs that they are growing up to fill. One large complaint from schools is that Project Based Learning requires too much time and resources. I am willing to give all of my time for my students. I want to ensure that my students' presentations and work is not limited by their socio-economic standing. My school is a Title 1 school with majority Hispanic students. I want my focus to be on them seeing, experiencing and doing more! These Chromebooks will allow me to take my PBL Projects to the next level.
This year my goal is to provide my students necessary access to technology as well as provide them with a digital toolkit for college and work preparedness.
My Project
This past school year, I was blessed enough to receive a donation of basic supplies such as markers and construction paper in order to start my students journey into Project Based Learning. As previously mentioned in my thank you package, I was able to send a team to county science fair this year because of it. My students completed full reports on their Cartesian Diver STEAM Challenge. My students completed a total of 6 PBL projects and I was able to see the results in my students' scores.
For this upcoming school year, my goal is to continue to transform my classroom through the power of STEAM.
My goal is to double my PBLs in a year. My students will be using Chromebooks to create full lab reports, collaborate with groups, complete a comprehensive work portfolio to show at our school's STEAM night. I want my students to be able to complete tours via Google Expeditions. I want my students to design digital 3D models. I want to be able to provide individualized lessons for each student without being forced to print thousands of copies.
