My Students

Close your eyes and think of your favorite book you read in elementary school. Chances are you have a book that has changed your life in some way. I am seeking to expand my scholar's libraries so that they can have an everlasting love for reading a multitude of texts.

My students come from four different areas of Rhode Island and are all working hard to get to college.

In my classroom we live by the saying "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work." Not only do my scholars follow this, but they also quote it on a regular basis.

My Project

During independent reading scholars will be able to check out the Kindle to check out ebooks from our local library. Also the second Kindle will be used in small group reading for specific scholars who need to pull apart a text. Being able to use the dictionary portion of the Kindle while reading and also highlighting main events and characters will give my scholars a chance to better comprehend the text.

My scholars are working extremely hard to be the best that they can be.

They all dream of going to college in the future and have said on numerous occasions that they want to be prepared appropriately so that they can go to college and eventually change the world with their knowledge. My scholars will be able to be exposed to many more texts and features if there were Kindles available to them.
