This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Signing Day project is all about celebrating and empowering our incredible students, particularly the incoming 9th graders who are embarking on their high school journey. What truly stands out about our students is their resilience and determination, despite many of them qualifying for free lunch. They bring a wealth of potential and eagerness to learn, and it's our privilege to support them in every way possible.

The resources we're requesting play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our students.

Snacks may seem like a small gesture, but they contribute to a sense of belonging and comfort, especially for students who may be feeling nervous or uncertain about starting high school. The photo booth offers a fun opportunity to capture memories and foster a sense of camaraderie among classmates. Additionally, creating college IDs and introducing students to the summer bridge program instill a sense of academic ambition and provide tangible pathways to higher education and future success.

Our goals for this project are twofold: first, to ensure that our incoming 9th graders feel valued, supported, and excited about their high school experience, and second, to lay the foundation for a strong sense of community and academic achievement within our school culture. We aim to cultivate a nurturing environment where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential.

What makes our students truly special are their resilience, thirst for knowledge, and unwavering determination to overcome obstacles. Despite their challenges outside of the classroom, they bring a contagious energy and enthusiasm for learning that inspires us daily. By investing in their education and providing them with the support they need, we're not just shaping their academic journey but helping them build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
