This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the blessing of teaching a class of 26 students. They are really growing and developing academically. We are learning so many things in science, math, reading, and writing. When I see them they are like sponges and really take in the subjects we are learning.
We are a Title 1 school and sometimes things in life are difficult and Covid-19 has added to the stress, their lives have been impacted by Covid-19.
Many of them have missed school because of the virus, some have lost family and friends. This is hard for anyone, let alone for a 5th grader.
My Project
Our school received a wonderful grant and we were able to purchase Chromebooks. However, the accessories did not come with it. Since more of their learning and testing happens digitally, The mouse would be helpful and could help improve their scores on timed tests.
The built-in mouse is difficult to navigate and slows the students' response time thus lowering their scores.
The headphones will help the students not be distracted from their classmates' devices. That will be nice for the teacher as well. We need the accessories.
