My Students

Welcome to my 4th grade class! I currently teach in an ICT. An Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom is a type of special education service in which one general education teacher and one special education teacher work together in the same classroom to support and teach children with and without identified disabilities together. We teach children with varied abilities, and many different learning styles.

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school (title 1), my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with a wholesome and meaningful learning experience. Keeping up with the students needs is all up to the classroom teachers, and whatever materials they have. Working in a Title 1 school means we don't always have the funds to give the students everything they need in a timely manner.

As Whitney Houston sings "the children are our future, let them lead the way", please support my classroom; help me give my students the materials they need and let my leaders lead!

My Project

I am asking for a printer to help my students take ownership of their work. Some of my students have motor skill deficits, so writing is very hard for them. They focus too much on the process of writing vs the quality of work. If I had a printer that worked, then they would be able to type and print their writing pieces. This gives them a sense of pride, and helps them to see that their work is just as good as everyone else's in the class.

In addition to my SWD, my other children need a printer to help with day to day things; projects, homework, reminders!

I come from a Title 1 school, which means my students need me to have the things they don't have at home.
