My students need 30 copies of Jacqueline Woodson's amazing story, "If You Come Softly".

My Students

Have you ever read something that you simply can't put down? That's the way I want my students to feel when they are reading a text. In donating 30 copies of "If you come softly" by J. Woodson, I assure you that my students will enjoy that experience!

My students are in remedial reading class.

My students describe themselves as "unmotivated" readers who require high interest adult literature. I struggle to provide them with the high interest literature that also is well written and has appropriate topics to discuss in class. This book does just that!

My Project

This book will definitely change my students and their perspectives on others. It is about interracial relationships and will certainly allow students to connect to the world around them, to themselves, to their friends. We will not only work with increasing our comprehension, but also with increasing our discussion skills. We will do research on other high profile events that are similar to those in this book.

I really know how much my students will enjoy this book.

I just know they will not be able to put it down. In a class where the students require high interest novels with dynamic characters and interesting plot details, my students will find it in this book! I thank you so much for your attention to this and other projects!
