Help me give my students the best possible reading environment! I tell them that if they can read, they’ll be able to do anything and it’s true! The easel will allow me to teach them important reading strategies.
My students from a suburb setting in Nevada come from a range of socioeconomic, cultural and educational backgrounds. These children from diverse backgrounds are all truly eager to explore, be around their friends, learn and have an opportunity to thrive. These precious students are not only a gift, but our future!
They love to read books, write stories, solve problems, and play with their friends throughout the day.
They are so excited as they proudly celebrate their new found abilities as readers, writers, scientists, historians and mathematicians. They truly love to learn!
My Project
It is essential for students to learn through direct and research based teaching, teacher modeling and practicing themselves. The easel and flexible seating environment will give the students a wonderful learning environment. The resources promote Nevada Academic Content reading standards 2RL1, 2RL3, 2RL4, 2L1, 2RF4, 2 RI.10 and 2 RI.1. These second graders have not been in the classroom because of COVID for over a year. With a love of teaching reading, I will provide the best classroom environment for all students to become the best possible readers they can be!
