Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a primary reading intervention teacher at a Southern California elementary school. My students come from a wide variety of very diverse backgrounds. A number of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and live in homes where the primary language is not English.

My students are children who have been identified as needing extra support as they develop the necessary skills to become accomplished readers.

My young learners come to school each day excited to explore new ideas and passionate about the world around them. They are so proud of their growing literacy accomplishments!

My Project

I currently serve students in grades Kindergarten through third grade as a Reading Interventionist. It is my goal to transform my classroom into a hub of literacy development on my campus. I am asking for your help to outfit my classroom with an engaging rotating book rack. I currently have many chapter books that are going unread because they are tucked away in boxes or cupboards where my students cannot easily access them.

Please help me display these amazing books in order to engage and inspire my young readers.

If they can see all of the awesome stories that are waiting to be read I believe that they will be inspired to read them.
