This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching for the last 5 years in a Title I school has been an eye opener. Students come from low income families and often don't have any food at home. This is the reason why I'm asking for snacks. It's extremely difficult for students to achieve academic success on an empty stomach! Students need to eat to be ready to learn.

Additionally, some students are not successful in the learning environment because they don't have school supplies.

It's not their fault. Unfortunately, low income families sometimes don't have enough money to buy their students pencils and notebooks.
